Joshua Robert Friedman

Attorney Joshua Friedman offers a unique and diverse set of legal skills that allow him to skillfully navigate a broad range of civil and criminal litigation matters for the benefit of his clients. Josh has substantive experience in a variety of practice areas including personal injury, criminal defense, civil rights, and business and commercial litigation. His clients have included individuals, local municipalities, and businesses large and small.

Josh graduated from Albany Law School with honors and served as an editor of the nationally recognized Albany Law Review. He was honored to begin his career as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Elizabeth A. Garry of the Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Department. In that role he helped to research and write decisions in numerous high-stakes civil and criminal appeals from the trial courts in 28 counties across New York State. He subsequently entered private practice, and has advocated on behalf of a diverse range of clients including, victims of serious, life-changing personal injuries; professionals and public officials charged with criminal or ethical wrongdoing; employers/employees in matters involving allegations of employment discrimination; municipal entities in both litigation and as general counsel; and companies of all sizes in a variety of civil, criminal, and regulatory compliance matters.

Josh is a member of a number of distinguished organizations for legal professionals, including the New York State Bar Association, Albany County Bar Association, and New York State Trial Lawyers Association. Josh has also been honored as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers and as a Top 40 Under 40 Criminal Defense Attorney by the National Trial Lawyers.  He has deep roots in the Capital Region having graduated from Shenendehowa High School and the University at Albany.  He currently resides in Menands, New York.
