I hired James for an uncontested divorce back in September of 2023. We communicated up to the end of December for document consolidation and review. The final divorce package was ready for signature shortly after. One month goes by, another, then I receive a call from someone in his office telling me... the divorce package has been mailed out to both parties. This was over 3 MONTHS ago; I have been calling every day with no return calls or emails and I never received anything in the mail. I would STAY AWAY from this lawyer. Client relations is your job, you sell man hours for an end product. Best advice, go to a larger law firm, James is a one man show with no time for you!

Hired Mr. Symancyk in Oct. 2022 for a house deed change from recently deceased Father to one of his daughters. The house was willed to myself and 3 sisters. Paid full fee upfront ( court fees and his his own fee ) as he requested and supplied all paperwork he said was needed ( original will, death ce...rt., Father's original house deed etc. He said he was sending out paperwork to my 3 sisters to be signed, notarized and returned. That was before Christmas last year. All 3 sisters never received it. Started trying to get in touch with him between Christmas and New Year's. Virtually impossible to get in touch with him. Did not return texts, phone messages left on cell or with his service, emails etc. Completely unresponsive. By the beginning of march it was close to 4 1/2 months from our initial meeting. Meanwhile nothing could be done with the house. I say this because my sister lost 4 1/2 months of ownership and what ever time the new lawyer needs. IRS states you have to "own" your primary residence for 2 years before selling to avoid taxes on sale. Also this produced much aggravation, a rift within my family etc. My one sister wrote a long email to him explaining our huge disappointment in how things were handled on his end with naturally no response from him. As far as we were concerned, nothing was accomplished. In the beginning of March I also wrote a long text reviewing the time frame, long process etc. and told him I wanted to terminate our verbal agreement asking for my fee and all paperwork to be returned. To his credit he did return everything back (reason I gave him 2 stars ) the following day leaving me to start over again with another lawyer. Would never use Mr. Symancyk again or recommend him. Like I said I gave him 2 stars because he did return fee and paperwork.

James was my husband and I’s attorney for the home we sold as well as the one we bought. He answered all of our questions in a prompt manner and alleviated any of our concerns or stress throughout the entire process. He advocated for us during both transactions and we couldn’t have been more pleased.... It’s clear he’s been doing this work for awhile and is knowledgeable in this capacity. He was someone we fully trusted when making decisions. We highly recommend him!
