I do not recommend hiring this attorney

Vince and his assistant Joanne, seem to believe that I am working for them instead of the way it is. It took over three months to close on my house that Vince was helping me sell after signing the contract. During the 3 month period, the only way I could get updates as to why it was taking so long ...to close, was if I contacted them. Typically, I would leave my number and never get a call back. After 3 months I was given a closing date that gave me 7 days notice to move. I told them I would need at least 2 weeks notice, as I had everytime I called them over the 3 month period. Then I was told they could not close on the date they chose because the buyer had to sell their house first. I reminded Vince the only contingency was that they secured financing which had already been done. He then explained the financing was contingent on the selling of their house. In other words Vince had effectively given the buyer a contingency to sell their house. He did not disagree. Fortunately they sold their house but wanted to close within 7 days. Again I made it clear I needed 2 weeks to move. We agreed to close on my house in 7 days, one day before I vacate. Therefore, a $2,500 escrow was withheld until the buyer took possession of the house. I was told by Joanne (Vince was not there when I signed the closing documents) that once they took possession the check would be sent. They took possession over a week ago and I have not received the check. After calling them (again they did not bother to call me and let me know) I was told by Joanne , the buyers attorney asked for it to be withheld and offered no reason. I have called Vince and he has still not returned my call. I was told all the escrow was held for was in case I did not leave and they did not take possession. I left on the day I said I would and they took the house the day we agreed to. My agent was even there the day the buyer moved in to make sure everything went well. Again, it appears Vince has missrepresented me and is too busy to discuss.

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
