I was in a bad situation after being arrested on a driving drug charge & I refused the chemical test....... Not because I was guilty but because the Officer wouldn’t accept urine as an alternative to the blood test. Something that could of given the same results and I was more the willing to subm...it. Instead he arrested me & said I refused the test. Originally I had legal aid Who didn’t show up to my DMV hearing on two separate dates resulting in my stupidity to continue without a lawyer & the revocation of my lincese. I was also facing jail time & years of probation. I knew I needed real help. I met with John & immediately felt I was in good hands..... he did not disappoint!!! The DA who was stuck on the same offer during numerous appearances with legal aid,, went from 10 days jail & 3 years probation to a walk-thru & 3 years probation after my first appearance with John. As this was unacceptable, He filed motions & was able to get me a hearing before trial. *legal aid put in for motions Twice yet never filed any paperwork on my behalf. I’m ashamed to admit this now but, After one of my appearances, I was annoyed with John because I thought he should of been doing certain things to elemnate some of my charges, Since I had the proof After discussing this with him, he said he knew what he was doing even if I didn’t understand. I kept my faith in him & boy was he amazing. He is a fierce advocate to have in your corner. During my hearing into just 20 minutes of John’s cross examination the Judge took a recess to allow the DA to locate paperwork .... it was during this break the Judge said To John “I could proceed & let you continue beating up on the Officer but, there is no point since I’m dismissing everything.” I have to say although I was extremely relived & happy, I was a little disappointed he wasn’t allowed to proceed because John was mesmerizing to watch. I can’t say enough about his ability in the courtroom. He was extremely prepared & ready to win. Honestly I believe the court knew John had just gotten started & if he would of been allowed to proceed, he would of been able to Prove the Trooper was lying & have him perjure himself. I still have traffic violations to deal with but the majority of my problems are gone. Because of his attention to detail,& his knowledge of the law..... He is a true expert on criminal law .... John’s expertises made it possible To be declared an Illegal Arrest! No jail & No probation. John is dedicated to providing the very best defense He is BEYOND Extraordinary. I couldn’t wait to write this review even before my case was over.... (which at this point should be in traffic court since the only charges left are traffic violations) because I want the world to know how extremely amazing John is. He was able to bring to light some of the Untrue things the officer was saying about me. Once this is over, I hope I won’t have the need for legal help in the further but, if I do I know who to call & I will tell everyone I know to look no further Hands down, John Powers is the Man This review doesn’t have enough stars for a man like John Powers!!!
