At one of the Self Directed Guardianship Workshops I hold throughout the year, the (retired) Transition Coordinator for the School District introduced me as a “godsend for the disabled community.” I talk about ten of the planning essentials as a developmentally disabled child turns 18 and offer handouts that include forms and documentation on how to navigate the Surrogate Guardianship Process in NYS.  I take parents line-by-line through the application process.

Guardianship Petition
Regina and her exceptional team have gone above and beyond to assist myself and my family with a Guardianship application that was a very complicated matter. Her paralegal, Amanda, maintained excellent communication and was very responsive to all questions I had. My conversations with Regina were very thorough. All my questions and concerns were addressed in a timely manner. When my application became more complicated, Regina added Wendy to the team to assist me and she has been an incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and proactive support throughout this proceeding. As additional legal matters arose, Regina and her staff provided the legal expertise and support I needed to navigate them. I contacted Regina for Guardianship Purposes for 2 of my children with Autism. We are so pleased with her services, we plan on using her again for our other 2 children with Autism. The process was easy. Regina needed school evaluations and doctor reports to complete the paperwork for the court of which the school and doctors gladly helped with. The court process was not long. Regina was nice, professional and most helpful in many other questions I had. I found working with Regina very helpful and recomend her to everyone. Several school districts are using Regina's information for parents who are in need of her services.

Where there is a will there is a way.
I hired Regina to advise me and prepare a trust with all of the accompanying forms necessary to protect and carry out my final wishes. She is very knowledge and helpful. Beyond a doubt she is one of the best lawyers that I have ever dealt with. Being as wills and trusts are her only areas of her practice, she is quite informed on those topics. Every time I had a question she had the answer and explanation of it. She is a very bright and patient person. Regina is our go to lawyer for special needs
My Wife and I have used Regina for the past 10 years for many things. She is an expert in special needs trusts as well as estate planning. Best Lawyer in Stony Brook
I Highly recommend Regina Brandow... Ms Brandow was recommended to me by a very close friend. We had a difficult estate and guardianship issue. Her attention to detail, knowledge of the law, ability to "get things done", and personal attention to our needs was more than could be expected. Regina Brandow - a wonderful, caring, attorney and individual
I have found Regina Brandow to be a wonderful lawyer, a caring and compassion individual, very honest and completely trustworthy. When my daughter died suddenly leaving me to raise a 16 year old, she did everything possible to help me through the challenges of obtaining guardianship. It was a very trying time in our lives and she showed such expertise, compassion and empathy. She got us through this terrible time and smoothed all the difficulties and roadblocks. She also showed such caring for my grandchild and immediately put her at ease. I will never forget her for helping me through this terrible time.
