RN

Karen has superior experience compared to amy other lawyer out there when it comes to protecting and saving your license! I was in a very serious situation that my entire career could have been ruined and destroyed! Karen with her years of experience and critical thinking related to all matters of ...your RN license, promptly and efficiently saved my life! She was the one who allows me to continue to be able to work in my profession again!!! Thanks to Karen I’m a free man. My family and I are in your debt and would highly recommend her for your license needs as well! She knows what she’s doing and has the proven track record to make it happen!

Karen changed the course of my future with her AMAZING representation

Karen Halpern is among the greatest people I have ever met. She came into my life a few years ago during a time of tremendous uncertainty and peril. At that time, I was unfortunately introduced to and investigatory review of my license that resulted from being let go from a place of employment. Anyon...e that has ever undergone a situation like this knows it’s extremely unsettling and anxiety provoking. Karen was able to educate me on what I could expect to be confronted with during the entire process. She was completely knowledgeable and everything she described would happen went just as explained. I was able to walk through this situation with a great deal of courage and hope knowing that Karen was my legal representation. Ultimately, as a result of her devoted and diligent efforts I received an incredibly favorable outcome. It goes without saying that I am extremely grateful for the role she played in securing my future. Unquestionably I would recommend Karen Halpern and I hole her in the highest regards. Thank You Karen!!! BEST, James, LCSW-R

OPD Investigation

Very early in my social work career, I found I was facing the unthinkable: an OPD investigation. This was a very frightening period in my life and when the investigation first started, I was afraid to hire a lawyer although many gave me this suggestion. It wasn't until much later that I realized I ne...eded to hire a lawyer. I went online, did some research, and came across Karen Halpern. From our first conversation, Karen proved that she was knowledgeable about OPD investigations. I knew that I had to hire her simply because of her vast experience and her understanding of how these investigations took place. She demonstrated that she cared by asking about my situation and learning more about it by giving me feedback. She showed professionalism and courtesy when I would contact her to ask questions about my case and she always responded. I appreciated that Karen has had experience defending various helping professionals: nurses, social workers, etc. I appreciate her empathy in my situation as I was new to the field. I appreciate her honesty about how OPD and OMIG work, and how she outlined a plan to help me keep my career. Because by the time I hired her, which was late into my investigation, I was fearful of losing everything I had worked hard for: my social work license. My situation ended on a wonderful note with my case being closed, no charges against me, and it is over now. However, I will always remember and be thankful that I hired Karen, and if anyone is ever in this situation, I would refer them to her as she knows the ins and outs, she's the main attorney working for you, and she strives to defend you and represent you as best as possible. She does a phenomenal job and my only regret is that I didn't hire her sooner in my situation. Thank you, Karen, for all you do. Having you as my attorney gave me peace of mind, especially at a time when there was so much uncertainty in my future as a new social worker.

Justice Center for Special Needs People

Do you need to appeal a Justice Center finding ? Well, look no further. Karen represented me on a recent Justice Center matter that went to a hearing. She skillfully dissected the JC's case against me and won the hearing. She is one of the extremely few attorneys that have won a case against the J...ustice Center. I can assure you that Karen is a very meticulous attorney that finds it unacceptable to lose a case. She's very soft spoken, listens to all of your concerns, reviews them and will later let you know the specific reason(s) why she feels your route chosen may or may not be in your best interest. Fortunately, as hard headed as I am, I elected to follow her guidance. In doing so, my ordeal is now finally over. You too can be the next success story. I highly recommend her.

NYS disciplinary action.

Mrs. Halpern represented me on a NYS disciplinary action. She promptly addressed all concerns and explained to me clearly what I needed to do. Her professionalism, knowledge and genuine understanding had put me at great ease. She was very kind. If anyone should need assistance in any manner I highly ...recommend her!

Relationship: Worked together on matter

"I have known Karen Halpern as a colleague and fellow nurse/attorney for many years and have consulted with her on matters dealing with the disciplinary defense of health care professionals in various state and federal agencies. She is very experienced and knowledgeable in this area and is often successful in having matters dismissed for her clients or negotiating the most favorable settlements possible on their behalf. I have found that Karen embodies a unique combination of qualities necessary for success in this arena. They are a straight shooting professionalism and integrity which have earned her the respect of her prosecutorial adversaries with whom she deals regularly and compassion for her clients who are often suffering through crises that have the potential to negatively impact their ability to practice in their chosen professions. I am grateful to have her as a resource for my own practice as well as an excellent attorney to whom to refer clients."
