Doesn't Return Phone Calls

I hired this lawyer to handle my divorce. She rarely returned my phone calls. She rarely returned my emails. She did not respond to my husband's attorney. She refused to meet with me before a 4 way meeting with my husband and his attorney. When we went into the meeting, she was unprepared and ha...dn't even reviewed the net worth statement I was required to prepare. Big mistake- she failed to reduce to writing an agreement that my husband would pay weekly towards the marital bills until the matter was resolved. Because of this huge mistake, I didn't get money for MONTHS, and then it stopped entirely. I discharged her and hired another lawyer, who got me a court order for temporary relief and then settled the matter within months. She is a very nice person but she doesn't LISTEN to her clients (at least, not to me). Discharging her was the best thing I ever did. Divorce is a sad and scary time. It is devastating- and you need a lawyer who listens and supports you. This is not that lawyer.

Not Respionsive

Doesn't make you feel she's representing you. She is not responsive. Barely keeps you informed. Very rarely can get to her personally. Mostly through her assistants. Does allow conference calls if requested.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
