Maxine Karen Last

Maxine Last was my lawyer for my divorce. Not only is she professional, she is tough, patient, and has the ability to simultaneously be supportive while fully standing her ground to achieve what I was looking for in a settlement. She takes a very sensible approach to what is a highly emotionally cha...rged situation. I highly recommend her as a divorce lawyer.

Not impressed with Maxine even though reviews stated otherwise. I went for a consultation and walked out with my anxiety level up. Instead of calming my fears Maxine magnified issues tremendously. Meditation as an option was never presented to me. All I heard from her that we will get him for this, ...we will get him for that. I came for resolutions and walked out with a migraine! I heard that Garden City lawyers are known for stirring up drama to bill their clients. This consultation proved it. I finally hired Manhattan attorney who I was comfortable with. She is calm and offers solutions by putting my kids first not drama generated $ profit.

Maxine was recommended to me by a client who had used her services. When I met with her I felt extremely comfortable during one of my most difficult times in my life. Divorce is not easy... What I found so intriguing about her? She is not what you hear about other attorneys. She always gave me the be...st advice and I never wanted to listen to her. Maxine would always tell me, " trust me." I fortunately did, at the end of the day she saved me money. Most of us during divorce want to win at any cost. I guess our egos get in the way. Maxine and her staff treated me like family, very important to me. When friends ask me for a referral and I recommend her, most people ask me, " is she expensive?" My reply is, I had used an attorney prior to her and he did nothing with my retainer. It was a disaster! I do not write bad reviews on anyone, just good ones. Towards the end of my divorce Maxine and Rachel both came to court and they recommended I listen to their advice and I'm glad I did. I rated them 5 stars...! Now if they could find me someone nice to meet, maybe I'll give them 6 stars :) Paul

BEWARE OF THIS ATTORNEY: I hired Maxine for my divorce. She never filed an order to show cause when my husband was in contempt of the support order. Instead she told my mother to continue to pay the bills for me and my 3 young children until the trial started and she would get the money back then. In...stead of making a motion and causing the legal bill to go up more. There were many things Maxine let slide and didn’t do. As the trial was about to start she said “I don’t know if your mom is going to get all that money back”. l was shocked that she said that and my response was “well if you would have done your job from the beginning we wouldn’t be in this situation”. Maxine then went to the court and relieved herself from my case the same month my trial was supposed to start. DON’T HIRE THIS ATTORNEY AND MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME!
