I am both an Attorney and Certified Public Accountant, with more than three decades of experience guiding individuals, families, and businesses through complex legal and financial matters. As Of Counsel at Futterman Lanza, LLP, I focus my practice on estate planning, tax planning and controversies, probate and estate administration, corporate transactions, and real estate matters.
Known as a creative tax advisor and problem solver, I assist clients in developing strategies that preserve wealth, minimize tax obligations, and achieve long-term goals. My work often involves helping business owners structure sales or transfers of family businesses, advising on mergers and acquisitions, and resolving tax controversies before federal, state, and local authorities at every stage of the process—from audits to appeals and, if necessary, litigation.
In addition to planning, I guide families through estate and trust administration, including contested matters, and prepare tailored estate plans that incorporate wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives. I also advise on both commercial and residential real estate transactions, providing clients with comprehensive support across a wide range of personal and business needs.
Prior to joining Futterman Lanza, LLP, I was the founder and managing partner of my own law firm in Garden City, New York, and previously served as a partner in Blaustein & Weinick, Esqs. I began my legal career with Katz and Bernstein, Esqs., where I advanced from law clerk to partner, and I also gained valuable financial experience at Peat Marwick Mitchell (a Big 8 accounting firm) early in my career.
My dual background in law and accounting allows me to deliver sophisticated, practical solutions, and I take pride in the long-term relationships I’ve built with my clients—many of whom I’ve advised across generations. I have also served as an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at Adelphi University, my alma mater, for more than a decade.
I am an active member of the New York State Bar Association, Nassau County Bar Association, and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). I work primarily from our Garden City office, serving clients across Long Island and the greater New York area.
At the core of my practice is a simple principle: provide trusted, personalized guidance that helps clients protect what matters most—family, business, and legacy.
