Took my money and didn't fight my case!
I didn't have an attorney on my child support case, didn't know how to present my case, and the judge didn't hear what I had to say because my ex would interrupt me and wouldn't allow me to speak. So I got a judgment that didn't justified my child's expenses or the father's true earnings. Upon t...
Unfortunately, this comment was posted anonymously, but due to the detail, I believe I can identify the case. This matter was originally decided in Family Court by a Support Magistrate. I was retained (hired) to file objections, which are submitted to a Judge in the Family Court. That Judge reviews the original decision. The matter was decided nearly one year ago. I still believe that you should have been entitled to reimbursement of a portion of child care expenses from the father of your child. Unfortunately, the Judge who reviewed our objections did not agree and you determined you did not want to spend money on a further appeal to the Second Department. While we do our best to present your case in the best and most educated way, I cannot predict the outcome of any case. Your disappointment was not relayed to me until the decision was reached. In fact, I understood that up until that point, you were happy with our services. If that was not the case, I wish that you had communicated your unhappiness to me earlier so we could have remedied the miscommunication. I wish you the best going forward.
