It sounds like the preliminary hearing did not go forward. I suggest you speak with your attorney or hire one.

If it is cash bail, you can go BUT technically you're not supposed to.
If it is a bond, get the permission of the bail bondsmen.

You can hire a local attorney who may be able to appear for you and without you but getting a public defender without appearing is not likely. ...

Sounds like you need a local attorney. Say nothing to the police or anyone else and be ready for charges to potentially be upgraded.

You need to hire an attorney and defend yourself. Get an investigator to obtain witness statements.
