Closing a Small Business - Tax Record Compliance

I came across Charles Rosselli, Esq, when I was searching for a local Tax Attorney. At the time, I was contemplating closing my small business and wanted to obtain guidance and assurance that my past tax records were compliant with the various agencies, and if not, any potential tax issues would be... properly addressed. Like any new experience, I had trepidations but looked forward to the opportunity to have a one on one consultation with Mr. Rosselli. During our session, it was clear that Charles was not only an expert in tax law but was also able to convey that knowledge in a clear and understandable manner. Beside the education I received, he provided me with a logical plan and direction to follow, explaining in layman’s terms any tax implications. My overall experience was very positive. I found Mr. Rosselli to be a professional, who takes pride in his accomplishments and his ability to help others.

Over $170,000 in tax debt reduced to under $35k

We were faced with an enormous tax crisis with 7 years of non filling plus a tax lien on property. After years of totally burying our heads with a complete disregard for being responsible adults we knew one day the IRS would come knocking. Well they sure did, not literally, but by the US Postal Servi...ce. It was time to face the reality of $170,000 plus tax debt, 7 years of unfilled tax returns & inevitable bank levy.....Freak out time!!! I took to Google to research tax attorneys as I knew we needed legal counsel. After many days & hours of reviewing tax attorneys we choose Charles Rosselli to consult with. He was readily available for our first meeting so we got all our paperwork, or lack thereof, & drove about an hour & a half to see him. We had a productive consult with Charles as he explained what we were about to embark upon. He was clear on expectations, time frame, cost & our responsibilities. We choose him to represent us as our attorney going forward. The first step was to file our delinquent years. After that we met again to discuss the next step which was basically an offer in compromise. At every turn Charles was easily reachable via email or phone. When we had any questions and/or concerns he promptly replied. We never felt that we were pushed off to someone else. Our piece of mind was secure through the whole process. Regarding his fees, they were all explained upfront & there were no hidden charges. Was he expensive? Well, when all was said & done yes but we knew it was money well spent. When you are looking at a tax debt of over $170,000 & rising as well as a tax levy, not to mention 7 years of back filling still to be done, you know it is going to cost to get out of the mess. It was well worth the money spent to have a reduction of approx. $140,000. We couldn't be happier with the outcome. Charles actually offered a very low amount to settle but the IRS came back with a higher amount. He then went back to counter & fought for us to get it lower once again & he was successful. We appreciated his perseverance on our behalf to settle for the lowest possible amount. In summary: Charles Rosselli Rocks! We are incredibly happy that we choose him. He is a top notch tax attorney that will guide you well & be there at every turn. He did not over promise & under-deliver but rather just the opposite. I wanted to take the time to write this lengthly review not only to thank him & Gina but also to help others find him. As a small business owner myself I always appreciate a great review. Do not hesitate to contact Charles for a free consult. We knew right away he was the one. He is genuinely a really nice guy....I knew that immediately. Down to earth, real, unpretentious & just awesome!!! Thank you Charles, from the bottom of my heart, for all you have done for us. ......... P & K

Not trustworthy

Took $1500 from me send me a website about my finance and that was all he did in addition of telling the IRS that he representing me. Afterwards he wants an additional $3500 to send the IRS an offer of compromise which he gave me no guarantee.

Clients sign an an initial fee agreement where there is full disclosure of the work to be performed for the services that are rendered. The representation as to the scope of services provided for the initial fee is unfortunately inaccurate. However, it is accurate that there was/ is no guarantee as to the possible outcome of a tax controversy with the IRS as an attorney cannot ethically guarantee a specific monetary result. We have successfully resolved many tax matters with the IRS and New York State Department of Taxation and Finance on behalf of many satisfied clients.
