Gary Mitchell Mionis

Gary M. Mionis attended the State University of New York at Stony Brook where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 1991. He earned his Juris Doctor from Hofstra University in 1994. He is admitted to practice law in all the Courts of the State of New York as well as before the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York; the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit; the United States Court of Military Appeals and The United States Supreme Court. Mr. Mionis is a member of the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and is actively involved with the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and Suffolk County Bar Association serving on many committees of both. He is a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society and Phi Beta Kappa Law Fraternity.

Mr. Mionis was born and raised in New York City. He has lived on Long Island for over thirtyyears making a home with his loving wife. Early in his career Mr. Mionis worked on behalf of the insurance companies defending negligence actions. However, he soon realized that he wanted to help people not multi-billion dollar corporations shirk their responsibilities. Regarding the tactics employed by the insurance companies to deny claims and delay litigation, Mr. Mionis said; “I just couldn’t be a part of that anymore and look at myself in the mirror.”, further adding “My parents raised me to do the right thing. To help people in need, not to do harm.” In 1998 he devoted his practice to representing the wrongfully injured. This gives Mr. Mionis valuable insight into the inner workings of how insurance companies evaluate and defend his clients’ cases. Since then, Mr. Mionis has helped countless people who have been the victim of negligence, medical malpractice, or wrongful death go on with their lives with some measure of comfort, dignity and sense of vindication.
