"Very rare Family Court Referee. Knows judging. Protects litigant's right to due process: translators, presence of counsel and presence of the litigants. Above all, actually reads the documents contained in the court file and renders decisions based upon a probing search for the truth in a case. Will actually conduct an in-camera interview with the child and will act on that interview. Appears impervious to gaming and does not enter orders arbitrarily and without written application or opposition. Permits counsel to make oral argument without interrupting and gives weight to those arguments without prejudging the assertions of the litigants. These are the traits of a superior civil jurist, I cannot figure out why this Referee is not at the top of the judicial leadership chain rather than at its bottom. Perhaps politics count for more than skill, demeanor and the actual ability to see two courses of action presented before her and choose rationally and reasonably the proper course."
