I would give Jeff Cohen a zero if I could. He told my son to plead guilty to a charge that was not true, instead of taking it to trial and proving my son innocent. He also told my son and I that nothing would show up on his record,which was a lie. My son has lost his job behind this because the DWAI... shows up on his record .My son is also unable to find employment because it will be on his record for 10 years.He made my son do what would make his job easy, without taking into consideration that my son is 21 years old and needs employment. The police officer wrote down whatever he wanted without proving any of it. My son gave blood to prove his innocence and Jeff Cohen did not try to get the blood test read. Initially he said that the police officer has no proof for his claim and pretended that he was going to get it dismissed . This is why I hired him. Then when I received the disposition, it said DWAI with alcohol. My son was not drinking alcohol , so why did he tell my son to plead guilty to that. Jeff Cohen pretty much ruined my son's life for the next 10 years, because that is how long the DWAI will appear on his record. Jeff Cohen could have sealed the unproven case, but I guess that was too much work for him. Now I see why he insisted that I zelle him the money and he refused to give me a receipt. He kept saying that he would email a receipt to me and he never did. I am now out of $4,500 and Jeff Cohen did not try to prove my son innocent nor did he seal my son's record. For anyone that wants to take a chance and use him as an attorney , have him put in writing, whatever he says that he is going to do, before you pay him. Jeff Cohen deceived us. I am also disturbed by him saying to me that my son cannot get a job because he never had one. I don't know where that came from and what made him think so lowly of my son without proof. I had to bring clarity to that remark because my son has been working non- stop from 14 years old to 21 years old. The past 6 months has been his first time without employment. He is also in college.
