Edward Carrasco is a New York criminal defense attorney and the founder of The Law Office of Edward Carrasco, representing clients in Queens, Nassau County, and throughout New York City. He focuses exclusively on criminal defense, including domestic violence cases, assault charges, NYPD investigations, Desk Appearance Tickets (DATs), orders of protection, and both felony and misdemeanor offenses.
Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Carrasco served more than 25 years in law enforcement, including as a Deputy Inspector with the New York City Police Department and as Chief of Operations for the New York State Attorney General’s Office, Investigations Division. In those roles, he supervised large-scale investigations involving violent crime, drug trafficking, fraud, organized crime, and public corruption, and oversaw teams of more than 200 investigators statewide.
This background provides a rare and strategic advantage: Mr. Carrasco understands how criminal cases are built from the inside—how arrests are made, how investigations are conducted, and how prosecutors evaluate cases. He uses that knowledge to identify weaknesses in the prosecution’s case, challenge evidence, and position clients for dismissals, reductions, or favorable resolutions.
Mr. Carrasco has also served as a liaison to multiple District Attorney’s Offices throughout New York City and is a recognized expert in police practices and procedures. He is frequently retained as an expert witness in both criminal and civil matters involving law enforcement conduct.
He represents a wide range of clients—from working professionals to fellow attorneys and law enforcement officers—and is known for providing direct, strategic, and aggressive representation. Every case is handled personally, with a focus on fast action, thorough investigation, and protecting the client’s record and future.
Mr. Carrasco earned his Juris Doctor from the City University of New York School of Law, a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University, and a Master’s degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
If you have been arrested—or believe you may be under investigation—in Queens, Nassau County, or anywhere in New York City, early intervention can make a critical difference. Mr. Carrasco leverages decades of investigative and courtroom experience to defend his clients at every stage of the process.

Edward's more than two decades spent with the NYPD, dealing with the District Attorney's offices and handling legal issues for the public at large have certainly given him a view of the law from many sides.
