Christopher Renfroe

I employ over three decades of criminal law experience to guide and defend my clients and provide them with the opportunity to change the courses of their lives. My love of the law and passionate advocacy is highly respected by clients, members of the Bar and Bench and I am often sought after for the most difficult cases. I was honored to defend the first death penalty case tried in Queens County.

I began by legal career in 1984 working for the Criminal Division of the Legal Aid Society, the largest public defender program in the country and the primary provider of indigent defense services in New York City.

In 1987, I went into private practice with the law firm of Renfroe & Quinn, where his tenure included high profile cases, such as the first capital case in Queens County, People v. Gordon.

Prior to the most recent moratorium on the death penalty in New York State, I convinced the jury to spare Mr. Gordon’s life by sentencing him to life in prison without parole instead of death. Subsequently, I've served as a lecturer and advocate against the Death Penalty.

In 2013, I founded Renfroe Driscoll & Foster, LLP to expand his practice so that the community could benefit from the skill and caring I provide to my criminal defense clients, to all areas of the law. I serve as a trusted advocate for each client, guiding my family of clients through critical situations in the legal system.
