Conscientious attorney, smart as a whip -- and knows the key players!

Rare is the attorney with Matt Kazansky's intelligence, compassion, legal knowledge and courtroom acumen. He handled a recent motion by my husband's ex-wife for an upward modification of child support. Matt beat back the motion and my husband won hands-down in the form of a complete dismissal of the ...case. In fact, my husband didn't even have to testify because Matt shrewdly saw how thin the evidence was and knew he didn't need to jeopardize my husband's testimony to win the case. Matt prepared thoroughly for the court date. He interviewed both me and my husband multiple times, took copious notes and reviewed reams of court documents. But his bills were low. Matthew met with us in person and held several phone conferences. He returned calls very promptly, and he is available by e-mail, cell phone and office phone. Matt is also a very caring person. And he's social in just the right ways. He works the courtroom and he knows the judges and magistrates; he has a very easygoing style but has a shark's temperament. It's a perfect combination. And, most important, he knows the law like the back of his hand. Matrimonial law is his specialty, but he has handled all sorts of other matters for us, including labor cases. In the child support matter, Matt researched case law prodigiously, and he used his findings to great effect in the courtroom. He was such a pro through and through. I can't recommend Matt highly enough. He is going to rise through the ranks quickly. So grab him while you can -- when he's young, eager, and filled with verve for his profession (and while his fees are still so reasonable). Matt is a winner and he will do a winning job any client he represents!

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
