First, let me start off by saying that my case is very complicated. I'm an LPR that was granted by IJ based on the waiver that Political Asylums are qualified for. The waiver was related to my earlier conviction for an Aggravated Felony. More than 5 years have passed since I'm an LPR and I'm applying... for a Citizenship. My chances of getting Citizenship with an Aggravated Felony are slim to none. I'm automatically barred based on my prior conviction. I have a good understanding of the immigration law that pertains to my case. So my engagement with Mike was pretty technical. I spent a lot of money for many consultations with other attorneys prior to meeting Mike, but I haven't got such a detailed answer or such a passionate engagement. He gave me a free consultation (thanks for that Mike). He advised me about different approaches to my problem and spent a good amount of time on whys and hows. He didn't want to take my case since he believed that my case would require challenging the current immigration laws and he didn't believe that would bear fruit. In addition, he advised me that my legal journey would be very costly if I take the case to the district court. He didn't feel comfortable taking my money for the case that he believes is not winnable. That is an admirable quality in a lawyer. Other attorneys were glad to take my case without having any plausible strategies. In addition, Mike said he will get back to me if he thinks of an optimal strategy to win my case. And I believe him.
