No. You should be fine traveling with the documents you have.

Your US citizen children can sponsor you when they turn 21. Maybe you can qualify for relief other than sponsorship based on children's petition.

See visa bulletin regarding processing times; probably, over a year; maybe a year and a half. It depends on the progress of the line.
My PERM is approved but I-140 is not yet applied. Going back to school on F1 Visa. Should I ask my employer not to apply I-140 ?

i 140 should be filed within 180 days of PERM approval. Filing of an immigrant petition will cause problems with showing of non-immigrant intent...
