David Jason Gerard

I utilize my combined 10 years of attorney and paralegal experience to provide quality legal representation in a diverse range of areas including real estate, intellectual property and business start-up/support. I assist clients in connection with matters such as commercial and residential real estate purchase and sale, condo/co-op conversion, contracts and negotiations, company formation, music publishing rights administration, landlord-tenant disputes, trust and estates matters, collection matters and both state and Federal litigation matters. I represent clients in wide-ranging industries such as music, visual and fine arts, real estate, and restaurants and other factions of the hospitality/service industry.

I earned a specialization certificate in Intellectual Property at Brooklyn Law School, and I am well versed in all matters involving intellectual property issues, including trademark and copyright registration and rights enforcement, intellectual property agreements and intellectual property litigation.

My philosophy regarding legal representation is to focus on the client and to represent the client in all legal matters flowing from the client’s needs. This allows me to act as a true counselor and trusted advisor to my clients, and makes the client the “specialty” rather than the practice area.

On a personal note, I am a lifelong New Yorker, as well as a dedicated husband and father to my wife, two wonderful children and three dogs. In my spare time I am a fisherman, a boxer and an unrepentant rock musician.
