Highly Recommend

I hired David for a property I was purchasing. From the start, he was available anytime I had a question or needed advice. All the paperwork and arrangements for my closing were done quickly and without complications. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs an attorney.

Very disappointed

I hired this attorney to represent me between a landlord tenant case. before I hired him we spoke on the phone and I had emailed some documents over with text and photos explaining in-depth what was going on and what I wanted out of the case. David agreed that I was on track and thought that we had a... great case going forward. He took a really long time to write the first letter to my landlord and barely looked at the information I turned over to him. After almost a year and really very little progress David quit out of nowhere. He told me that the case was much more complex than he originally thought and that he was moving into commercial law. He gave me about half of my money back and recommended me to another lawyer but, this felt like a massive waste of time on my end. Hiring a new lawyer would mean explaining everything to a new person and moving forward after that. I was really disappointed with the end result of this experience. I do not recommend David Gerard to anyone.

I am sorry that our legal representation relationship did not work out. I believe that the information provided was reviewed in a timely fashion, and a strong Complaint was drafted for potential litigation. However as additional evidence was provided, and as the potential defendant responded with counterclaims, it became apparent that the facts of the case were not as clear-cut as initially thought, and that the matter would be far more complex than initially intended. Ultimately I decided that you would be better represented by another attorney more specifically suited to the complexity of the matter, especially in light of the counterclaims seeking substantial amounts. I believe that this was expressed to you several times, but I apologize if those communications were unclear.

Supportive, Thorough, Responsive, Clear

Dave really helped me out in a difficult NYC housing situation. He presented me with the relevant legal information, the possible outcomes of different approaches based on his experience, and how others have responded in similar situations. While it turns out the letter of the law was not exactly wor...king in my favor in this particular case, Dave was supportive of me as a person, and gave me expert counsel.

Very helpful and prompt

My sister and I were very hired Dave to help us with a matter concerning a property we inherited, and we were very pleased with him. He was clear about what he needed from us, and prompt in resolving the matter. I would recommend him to anyone in need of a good real estate attorney.
