Extremely Unprofessional and Untrustworthy – Do Not Recommend

This individual was one of the worst hires I have ever made. He behaved in an unprofessional, unpredictable, and reckless manner throughout the case. His decisions were impulsive, poorly thought out, and reflected a lack of experience and basic professionalism. His conduct gave the impression of some...one immature and unreliable, which seriously harmed the chances of success in my case. Rather than providing competent legal guidance, he relied on aggression, shouting, and false confidence, apparently believing that being louder and more confrontational would somehow impress the court. In reality, this approach only damaged my position and made matters worse. Judges and court systems are not fooled by this behavior, and his methods showed a complete misunderstanding of how the legal process actually works. In my own custody case, his behavior escalated to outright misconduct.

Divorce and Family Law Lawyer in one!

I could not be happier with Joel’s breathe of legal knowledge, his natural instincts with people (a must in negotiations) and his high ethical values (helps to clearly guide my legal decisions). He has represented me for nearly three years now, and I would not choose anyone else.

"Joel is an unbelievably passionate advocate on behalf of his clients. I have personally seen the incredible devotion with which he represents them. He researches each and every question of law, spends hours drafting and rewriting briefs and motions, and he doesn't cower at the prospect of a fight in court. He represents his clients as if they were part of his family--no matter how seemingly insurmountable the obstacle. What truly separates him from other family law and divorce attorneys is his empathy and his willingness to understand the hardship that each person is going through. As someone who has seen the sweat and blood that he poors into every case I can personally attest to the fact this is an individual who is truly selfless. You simply cannot find a better, more zealous, advocate."

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
