        I do a broad range of domestic and international corporate transactions, including contracts, startups (both LLCs and corporations), mergers and acquisiotions, intellectual property,  corporate finance, tax and real estate. I am fluent in French and German, proficient in Italian and advise with contracts, M&A and other transactions involving US, French, German, Austrian, Swiss and Italian companies. I also do residential real estate transactions.

         In the past several years, I have also represented small software and IP companies, done private real estate transactions and structured split dollar life insurance transactions, which provide tax advantages and other benefits for corporate executives. Recently I counseled several U.S. investors in the acquisition of a resort hotel in Costa Rica.

       My goal -- whether advising, drafting or negotiating - is always to advance and protect the business and personal interests of my clients.  My response is prompt, focused and, given the quality of the work product and the current economy, very cost effective.

Very honest and always looking out for my best interest
Mr Meilen has helped me set up my business and also change several things after he set it up. Throughout the whole process he broke down everything and explained it to me very clearly. His pricing is also very fair and clear. He is very quick with responding and emailing. He is very honest and has been there to help me with lots of legal advice and questions I had never belittling me or making me feel inadequate for not knowing something.

Earnest, hardworking, intelligent, educated
I've been working with Mr. Meilen for a number of years on two large international trusts with complex tax and legal questions, and with numerous interested parties including an international corporation, some executives with domiciles in three countries, and beneficiaries based in the US, Europe, and Asia. Meilen knows how to get to the heart of how to organize and document legal entities to improve tax and investment results for all parties. He is also earnest, considerate, and not overly aggressive in his approach to client relationships and the law, although he will strongly look out for the interests of his clients. I am a financial professional and Ph.D., not a lawyer, but my experience with his work is very positive -- and I would recommend his services without reservation.

Excellent Lawyer at Reasonable Rates
I have worked worked with Gerhard several times over the past 10 years. He has provided my companies and me with invaluable services in a variety of areas including software licensing, real estate, mergers and acquisitions. He has worked with me on negotiating software licensing agreements with companies like Google, Microsoft and Verizon; large acquisition of technology companies and hotels as well as several large real estate transactions. Gerhard is not only a thoroughly competent lawyer, but more importantly, he is able to think like a business person. This enabled us to navigate several issues during particularly difficult negotiations. Meticulous Work
