I obtained Mr. Barbara for a custody case. Jason Barbara has to be the biggest scam artist of all time. Charged me $7,500 to read papers and did nothing but harm my case. He kept on asking me questions in which he already had the answers to (everything was contained in the documents I sent him).... I'm thinking, your charging me $7,500 to read documents, and you never read them! He's a great performer. He'll get on the phone with the other lawyers in the case in front of you and grandstand like he has pull or something with the other lawyers in the case to get your case to go in the direction you want. He's not shy on letting you know who he knows. Which means garbage anyway, because it seems like the other lawyers don't have a high opinion of him. He's a very good actor in front of you, but a very poor lawyer. When in court, he doesn't perform. When it came time for him to speak out or fight allegations, he whimpered out in front of the judge and did nothing! Your lawyer is supposed to speak out for you and on your behalf. Jason Barbara was like a deer in headlights. This firm is very very very slow to act on anything. Several times, I went to the courthouse myself and filed papers because this firm was just too slow. Can you believe I had to do what I was paying this firm to do? Oh, but they make sure they consisently send you bills for reading documents. After they were fired, I asked for my case file. All they gave me back was copies of everything I supplied them with. I urge you, if you want a comptent lawyer, go elsewhere. Do not overlook this review. I overlooked the bad reviews I read on him and now I regret hiring him and all the time wasted that I can't get back. Good luck!

I had representation by another lawyer that I was extremely dissatisfied with. I was recommended to Jason Barbara by a friend and he helped me turn my life around. I was losing my children and now I have them back. I cant even begin to express my gratitude for what he did for me and my family. He is ...such a positive person and always ensured me that everything is in control and that everything will be okay. He gives you his personal cell phone number and email and he always made himself available. He takes his job very seriously and is a perfectionist at what he does. I had Jason represent me in my custody/divorce matter and I must say that I was TERRIBLY disappointed!!! . He handled my case very poorly and recklessly. He puts on a big charm initially, making you think he actually cares for your case when quite to the contrary, it's the money in your pocket he ca...res for. If he feels you have money then he tries to lure you in like a snake and fraudently charge you as much as he can till he drains you out . I feel his charm is what got him to still exist in this buisness till today . He is knowledgeable and that is how he pulls you near him BUT beware cause what you sign in your contract with him as most of the time he doesn't even show up to your case!!! ( on the day of your court date he goes around trying to see how many new clients he can dig for money). It came to the point where during one ofmy recent case , he just disappeared !!. If I had to sum him up in few words : I would say he has the knowledge that he doesn't use wisely and truely help his clients. I can't honestly emphasize how sneaky and crooked this lawyer is, don't fall for his charm .You are better off representing yourself than have him represent you as your lawyer. The " apple doesn't fall very far from the tree with him " ....like father like son.
