Derek John Rolo

Derek Rolo founded Rolo Personal Injury Lawyers in Middletown, New York, with a simple mission: to serve people with integrity, compassion, and a focus on real results. Growing up in the Hudson Valley, Derek developed a strong sense of community that has shaped the way he practices law today. He earned his undergraduate degree with honors from the State University of New York at Cortland and went on to complete his law degree at Villanova University School of Law.

His career began at Rogers McCarron & Habas, P.C., where he worked on personal injury and estate planning matters. These cases gave him the chance to guide people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives—whether recovering from an injury or protecting their family’s future.

Later, as an Assistant County Attorney in Orange County, Derek defended the county in personal injury and commercial litigation. That role gave him valuable insight into how government agencies and larger organizations handle claims. He also served as a Principal Attorney for the New York Power Authority, where he managed high-stakes cases and complex legal issues requiring creative solutions and persistence.
Today, Derek is proud to be a Middletown personal injury attorney with many years of wide-ranging legal experience. He has handled challenging personal injury cases involving car accidents, bus accidents, nursing home abuse, and dog bite incidents.
