About James

4
Practice areas
  1. Personal injury
    40%
who have been injured in construction accidents, vehicular injuries, dog bites, slip & falls, or any other type of injury. If you have been injured because of the negligence or misconduct of another, you are entitled to compensation for your economic losses, medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages associated with your pain and suffering. Obtaining this compensation, however, requires you to prove every element of your case in a lawsuit.

  2. Car accident
    25%
If you or a loved one are injured or even killed in an auto accident due to another’s negligence or reckless driving, the impact may be enormous both in terms of financial expenses and forfeits, as well as the physical and emotional pain that must be endured. Insurance companies employ claims adjusters and attorneys to negotiate, litigate, and settle your case to protect their best interests. Without an attorney, you are at the mercy of the insurance company to decide what compensation is fair.

  3. Criminal defense
    20%
Our attorneys stand up for people who have been wrongfully arrested and charged with Criminal Offenses, and contacting a lawyer as soon as possible will help ensure that you are given a fair trial and that you do not unknowingly forfeit some of the many important rights guaranteed to the accused by the Constitution. In addition to safeguarding your rights, we provide a strong defense whether it involves challenging witness testimony, equipment reliability, or other evidence used against you.

  4. DUI and DWI
    15%
We operate in the state of NY, an especially harsh state for DWI and DUI offenders. The fact is, the authorities have tools at their disposal which make finding and catching drunk drivers all too easy. Even with a low BAC (blood alcohol content) and no prior offenses, a DWI conviction can cost up to and beyond $10,000 combined in fines, psychiatric assessments, license suspension fees, and mandatory programs. To avoid potential jail time, and secure the best results, legal representation is key.

Simply the best!
Our family is sincerely grateful to James for all his help and support. James is a great personality, an honest professional, and an outstanding defense attorney who really knows his craft and respects his clients. He was very supportive and answered all my phone calls, even when he was in court. James found the best possible solution for our case. After thoughtful consideration, he developed a brilliant strategy to defend us and, finally, to obtain the best possible outcome. Thank you, James! You are the best! Simply the best!

Great Law Firm
I do not normally write reviews however in this case I wanted to share my experience with Dupee and Monroe, Attorneys at Law in Goshen ,NY . I have dealt with a good number of attorneys in the past (not local) however in this particular case I need a local agency . We asked friends for recommendations and the name that continually was at the top was Jim Monroe. We scheduled a meeting with Jim and found him to be prompt (love that) professional ,personable and extremely knowledgeable. The fact that he listened intently ,asked many questions and fully understood my issue was impressive. Many times on a first visit people are trying to sell you a solution without all the facts......NOT HERE. Also the communication with Jim and his staff was always great with a quick reply to any questions. The day I went to court I know I was in good hands and the end result was outstanding. I would highly recommend Jim and his firm to anyone looking for legal counsel.
