I retained Steve for the closing of a home I purchased in July 2025. Things went fairly smoothly. He was not readily available to take calls or respond to texts, and would respond, "in court" at times. I had hired him because he charged $200 less than an attorney I previously used. I belive the c...losing on my home went fairly smoothly because it was presumably not too difficult (i.e., didn't involve a management agency). I hired Steve for the sell of my co-op again because he charged $200 less than my former attorney. I had an all cash offer at the end of August 2025. I hired Steve in September. After he took half the retainer in September, I barely heard from him again. He didn't respond to many of my texts or calls so I instead contacted my realtor, who was in communication with him. The delay in closing on my co-op cost me thousands of dollars in extra co-op HOA fees ($1004/mo). Per my realtor, Steve was blaming the management agency for the delay. My realtor learned that the Buyer had been approved by the Co-Op Board on 11/24/25 and said that Steve was working quickly to set up a closing date. Two weeks passed and there was still no closing date. I called, texted, and emailed Steve in December. No response. I then communicated with the management agency; they hadn't heard from Steve nor received closing dates. The agency forwarded me the notification that was sent to Steve on Nov. 19, 2025 -- nearly a month earlier -- informing him that the buyer had been approved by the co-op board. I'd gained all this information on 12/17/25. I then terminated services with Steve and hired my former attorney, who had the closing scheduled within 24-hours. Steve is such a nice guy. Very personable but decietful. He does not work efficiently to get the job done (presumably because he also works in other avenues of law, including criminal defense). You might save a couple hundred bucks up front but it will literally cost you thousands. Never ever hire him if you have a co-op to sell!

Very difficult to get hold of. Your calls to him will go to Voice Mail 100% of the time. Prefers to "text" as opposed to talk. Returns calls at his leisure. Shows up to closings unprepared. When unsure about how to proceed on his clients behalf, he will consult with the opposing side to see how he sh...ould proceed. Big no no. I would NEVER have hired him had I read previous review of him. BIG MISTAKE. Still cleaning up one of HIS mistakes 1 month after transaction was finished.

Do not hire this lawyer: 1. He does not respond right away. I would call him, send him a text message and an email and there were times when he would respond after a week up to 2 weeks. 2. He has no integrity. I paid him in full the day before my closing because I would not be able to attend clos...ing. I gave him power of attorney to close my real estate deal which included a reimbursement check from the seller (I was the buyer). A month after closing, after so many reminders for him to send me my closing statements and check, he sent me the check minus his "additional fee" which he never mentioned to me. After this transaction, he has not called me back.
