Biography
Shayla Ramos, Esq. is a recent law school graduate who has been admitted to practice law in the State of NY & NJ. While at Hofstra Law, Shayla was a recipient of the LGBT Rights Fellowship, a researcher at Hofstra’s Law, Logic & Technology Research lab and was a former President of Hofstra’s OUTLaw (LGBT+) group. Shayla is trilingual speaking English, Spanish and Portuguese. She currently works at the Douglas Family Law Group, focusing on divorce, mediation, family & fertility law. Shayla is also experienced in asylum law, cannabis law and cryptocurrency.
Shayla was also recently named the new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Co-chair for the Melville Chamber of Commerce and is an active member of the following bar associations: Nassau County Bar, National LGBT Bar, LGBT Bar of NY, Hispanic Bar, Federal Bar and the New Jersey State Bar Association.
