In New York, the law is pretty clear that your wife is still liable on the debt. She will have to file assuming she qualifies and it is the right...

The credit report should show a Zero balance owed on the account. Dispute the entry if it does not.
As to q 2, I doubt it wil affect your loan...

You can simply dissolve the corporation outside of bankruptcy.
