Michele E. Cassidy

After spending years as a corporate litigation associate at the prestigious New York City firm Rogers & Wells, and later as in-house counsel at several investment banks, I made a deliberate decision to redirect my career toward work that felt deeply personal and meaningful to me. Having navigated the challenges of caring for my disabled sister and my aging parents, I understood firsthand the stress, confusion, and heartbreak that families face when a loved one needs long-term care or is no longer able to manage their own affairs.
I went back to school and earned an LL.M. in Elder Law and Estate Planning from Western New England University — and today I teach Legal Capacity, Advanced Directives and Guardianship there as an Adjunct Professor of Law. I then joined the esteemed elder law practice of Dean Bress, and when Dean retired, I had the privilege of continuing the practice he had built.
At Cassidy Law Firm, I bring together the professional rigor of my corporate legal background, the specialized expertise of my graduate training, and the genuine empathy that comes from lived experience. I believe that combination allows me to offer something rare — sophisticated legal counsel delivered with real compassion.
I assist individuals and families throughout the New York metropolitan area and Hudson Valley with Medicaid planning and applications, asset protection, estate planning, wills and trusts, guardianship, and probate and estate administration. With offices in Katonah and White Plains, I am committed to guiding families from uncertainty and confusion to clarity and peace of mind.
