I am very pleased with the services performed by Mr. Grimes. He was very compassionate in understanding my issues and concerns guiding me through a difficult process.

I can only state my experience and let you be the judge.
I needed a Divorce Lawyer so I looked through the internet. I came across this one. I saw the credintials, Harvard/75 yrs experience/ex-cop. I thought for sure I had a winner. However, my Court date came up and I had to be there at 9am. I got there an hour early. Mr Grimes knew he had to be there as well. At about 8:30am I see my spouse and her lawyer show up. Mr. Grimes was no where to be found. At 8:45am my name was called and I was told to get ready to come in before the Judge. I told them that my lawyer was not there yet. At 9am they called again and I had to tell the Court officer that my lawyer was not there yet. My case was pushed back and the waiting began. I called Mr Grimes Office and no one answered. I was embarrassed and felt horrible. At 9:20am Mr. Grimes comes walking casually into the waiting area. Now we walk over and tell the court officer that we are ready. I thought, well at least he was here. Well, I am standing next to him as we wait to go into the court area. My spouse's lawyer walks up to us and serves me with a counter order of protection. Mr. Grimes glances it over and then hands it to me. He expected me to read it and then he asked me if I wanted to accept it. I did not know any better and said, okay. I know now that he should have not allowed that to be done. Then we walk into the court and we are seated. What I experienced was absolute horror for me. He stood up to speak and was at a lost for words. Then he turned and asked me a question that he should have known. A QUESTION, right in the middle of the case as though he was having and elderly moment. I was horrified. What I saw was that he was woefully unprepared. Then when my spouse's lawyers chewed him up and had him for breakfast and lunch, with a speed of words and action they went further and demanded that I surrender my guns that had already been in safe storage. Mr. Grimes only word and action was to say to the judge, "but he's a former officer". I wanted to just melt and disappear. The judge looked at me sternly and denied my order of protection and placed one against me. Then,
We all stepped out of the court and all he could say was, "this is bullshit, I'm gonna call them up and negotiate to get this over with." I was in SHOCK. I thought, NO WAY, you are not going to negotiate for me.
I ran home in a daze and could not believe what just had happened. So I looked for a more competent and caring lawyer to handle my case.
My new lawyer had said, well you should get most of your money back as nothing much has been done. But not so, to add insult to injury, Mr Grimes sent me a detailed bill that claimed to the tune of 6K+ for the work he imagined he did. What a rip off.
In his letter with the small refund sent he said that I was unsatisfied with the outcome of the case, But that was not it.
1) He showed up 20 minutes late to court
2) He was woefully unprepared
3) He gave me bad instructions and advise. He should have done what my spouse's lawyers did for her. They wrote her order of protection document for her and filled it with alleged details that although not true, looked good the way it was written.
I had to go and write up my own. I wonder what I paid him for.
This was my experience and I don't want anyone in a similar situation to go through what I went through.
