Our lead attorney, Susan G. Parker, has many years of experience counseling clients of all ages and economic levels, on these deeply personal and family matters, with compassion and wisdom that makes her an invaluable trusted advisor. Susan and her assistant Karen are the firm's frontline in making clients know their needs will be met.
In addition to the core practice areas, the firm handles many related areas of law including tax planning, Medicaid asset protection, employment agreements, real estate transfers, house closings and trust administration. We also help people start businesses, sign leases, create partnership and business agreements, write and review employment contracts, handle employment law matters and undertax personal and business tax planning.
We work with people from all over the country and world, who need to probate the estate of a loved one in the NY metro area. A good deal of our practice is also devoted to planning for people who have family roots in country's around the globe. When it comes to elder law, Susan shares the experience that many of her clients face: shepherding parents through their golden years - often with an unforeseen snafu - and the economic and emotional toll this can take on all involved.
Althought we live in a DIY "do it yourself" world, this can be unrealistic when it comes to your own plans and needs, and the needs of your loved ones. As many of us know, DIY isn't as easy as it sounds. Although many web services, offer online estate planning or agreements you can print and sign,often it's not that simple. All states have laws about how a will has to be signed, to be valid. Did you know that by having a will signing overseen by a lawyer, there is a presumption that things were done properly - if the will is ever challenged?
We are avid pet lovers, and volunteer our legal talents on behalf of the SPCA of Briarcliff Manor - to help those who want to leave a bequest to the SPCA, and also to help the SCPA collect legacies left to them.
