DO NOT HIRE FARVA. I was provided her assistance for 10 hours of litigation paid for by the state and then an additional 10 hours supposed to be paid for provided she agreed to appear pro bono for the remainder of the process. She refused to appear pro bono and then charged me multiple retainer fees,... took over 2 years to get me divorced, did not provide any reasonable representation (she sat during hearings off camera and silent to the other attorney who spoke on behalf of his client but expected me to speak on my own behalf) or direction (she barely communicated with me over the 2 years she "represented" many times going months without ever contacting. Meanwhile my ex husband got away with not paying anything he was court ordered to pay for those 2 years including child support, taking my income tax, stealing my engagement ring and harassing me. In the end after 2 years of no assistance and no expectation of anything I gave up and agreed to whatever would end the process. She also continuously tried to get me to not fight for anything because it wasn't "millions of dollars" we were talking about. I'm sure for millions of dollars she would have fought for her client but for a single mom losing her house to foreclosure while her husband lives the high life with his mistress I guess I just didn't matter. Following the divorce and her no longer representing me she sent out an email that any remaining retainer funds would be returned but when I replied asking when to expect them and how much the email was returned to me. Save yourself the trouble and pass on Farva.
