E.Long vs Trinity Ins.
N/AOUTCOME: Policy Limits
This case started out as a fairly routine auto/truck accident case--except this time I represented the truck driver. When he hired me, he had what appeared to be minor, nagging injuries. There was a ch ... ance to resolve the case early on (and my client initially wanted to do just that), but I persuaded him to make sure he was fully recovered. I know from past experience that the "nagging" injuries can be much more serious that my clients think they are. The responsible driver only had minimum limits on his liability insurance policy, but luckily my client's employer carried underinsured motorists coverage in a very high amount. This was great news, as my client eventually needed three surgeries on three separate body parts. It took a while, but the wait was worth it. I was able to eventually convince the underinsured motorists insurance company to pay their full policy limits. I still talk to my client from time to time and he always expresses his thanks for convincing him to be patient. Patience does indeed pay off sometimes.
