We declared bankruptcy and it was the best decision we made. We had put a lot of medical bills on CC and that along with other things that go along with being a young irresponsible couple with major credit cards and major medical issues (eating out because not able to cook etc) we had over 40,000 in ...debt and were paying over 950/month in minimums. It was crazy. We tried to consolidate and were told to declare bankruptcy instead. I signed up for a debt settlement plan and they stole my money and had creditors suing me. We would pay one card with the other etc. We are now 1 year post bankruptcy. We are debt free. I have a credit card again. With the extra money we have started living within our means and really becoming human again. It helped us so much getting our lives back one track. To us we are sorry we didn't do it sooner and would recommend anyone in our financial situation to do it.

My first time filing for bankruptcy I had no clue what to do I spoke to other lawyers before karra i didn't feel comfortable with there respond i even had one firm tell me that the lawyer was going to call me and go over the case with me after i bring in the paperwork needed and sign the papers but i... had nothing to bring i just knew that i had a levy on my check but didn't know why and from who this was a very old dept.
