David Rosello Gates

David R. Gates is admitted in 2009 as an Attorney-at-Law in the State of New York. David has a unique and diverse background. He obtained his first bachelor's degree (Philosophy) from De La Salle University, Manila. Thereafter, he proceeded to study law in England, under a merit-based, partial scholarship at Coventry University. David also completed a Master of Jurisprudence (M.Jur.) degree from the University of Durham, England. His postgraduate research was in the area of international criminal law. While reading law, he undertook internships with human rights organizations in Geneva and London. He also volunteered as a Neutral Trial Court Observer for the organization, Lawyers Without Borders, in Namibia. Further, he has spent a number of years in Singapore, working as a Foreign Law Practitioner and a Legal Executive. While working in Singapore, David gained extensive experience providing litigation support in cases involving commercial disputes, contract, tort, probate, trusts, family, construction, corporate and shareholder disputes, public law, criminal law and even aviation. From his diverse background, David brings to the table a wealth of knowledge, skills and the ability to think out of the box to find practical solutions for his clients. In New York, particularly at Balahadia & Gates PLLC, David found his niche. His mainstay area of practice is immigration. Besides this, he is able to assist clients in probate cases, drafting of will and estate planning, real estate transactions and family law cases.
