Jason Lowell Fixler

Jason Fixler lives in New York City. Born in Rego Park, Queens and raised in Westchester County, he graduated from the Hackley School and earned his Bachelor of Arts from Widener University in Chester Pennsylvania. After graduating college, Mr. Fixler worked as a property and casualty underwriter of commercial line primary and excess insurance for American International Group (AIG) in Manhattan.

After returning to school to obtain his Juris Doctor from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, Mr. Fixler worked as an associate at Fixler & Associates, LLP in New York City for the next five years, where he honed his trial and appellate skills in personal injury defense and transactional litigation.

During his tenure at F&A and, as a Partner at Fixler & LaGattuta, LLP, Mr. Fixler has successfully tried cases involving:

• Labor Law violations;
• Personal injuries for slip/trip and falls over areas designated as "special use";
• Third party actions for contractual indemnification;
• Building owners, lessors, lessees for injuries allegedly sustained as the result of malfunctioning elevators;
• Assault, wrongful arrest and, malicious prosecution against attendants working in the course of their employment;
• Civil rights violations against corporations and their officers.
• Wrongful death arising from a malfunctioning elevator
• A shopping mall patron who allegedly sustained personal injuries on a construction site.
• Property damage to bailed property.

Mr. Fixler has extensive experience handling construction/labor law matters, premises, and real estate matters in both litigation and transactional forums, as well as first and third party automobile liability claims. He has also represented property owners in closings, commercial real estate purchases and sales and contract reviews and negotiations as well as independent contractors in construction contract negotiations and disputes, environmental impact assessments, and conversions of privately owned apartment buildings to residential cooperatives.
