Yes you can sue, but not now as the court is closed. Collection is the issue if you get a judgment here. There may be no assets in New York.

She just changed the locks and has denied me access. Can she do that ?

She cannot do it. You can call the police and show your deed. Or get a locksmith, who will also need to see the deed, to get back in.

Something is not right. If you cannot reach your lawyer, call the judge's clerk you met with and explain what happened.

If she was married the spouse comes first. You would have to lie on a sworn form to say there was no spouse to claim first place status.

Yes, but you have to do it the right way. Also, if your letters are restricted you might need court approval.

If the citation is from your attorney, your attorney will go. If it is for probate and you have no attorney, you must show.

You do have recourse. If your mother is still alive, seek a guardianship, and then seek a vacating of the deed.
