About Stephanie
Biography
Stephanie began her career in 2006 working in New York City for top-tier law firms assisting attorney’s with civil litigation matters. She also gained experience in compliance and regulatory matters while working for financial institutions. In addition, Stephanie received experience in governmental affairs at the United States Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C., and the Baton Rouge Public Defender’s Office in Louisiana.
During her tenure as an Assistant District Attorney, Stephanie served in the Appellate Bureau arguing before the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division. She also served in the Trial Bureau where she prosecuted a wide range of offenses.
Additionally, Stephanie dedicated three years of service to the United States Peace Corps in Uganda, East Africa and gained international experience.
Known for her innovative solutions to legal challenges and a strong commitment to her community, Stephanie established the SL Nelson Law Firm PLLC’s mission statement, “Where Advocacy is Limitless” with the aim to fight for her clients endlessly to get the most favorable results.
