Thomas Kesoglou

Thomas Kesoglou is a partner in McCarter & English's Corporate, Securities and Financial Institutions Department. Mr. Kesoglou has a transactional corporate practice focusing on advising clients in connection with leveraged recapitalizations, management buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, mezzanine financings, early and late stage private equity and venture capital investments and secondary transactions. Mr. Kesoglou also serves as outside general counsel to a number of privately held and emerging growth companies.

Mr. Kesoglou represents many private equity, venture capital and mezzanine funds in connection with primary investments, secondary transactions and leveraged recapitalizations. Mr. Kesoglou also represents several U.S. and foreign industrial corporations in connection with their strategic acquisitions and dispositions in the United States.

Mr. Kesoglou has advised a variety of companies at every stage of development, from start up ventures to publicly-traded corporations engaged in a wide range of industries, including consumer products and retail, e-commerce, media and entertainment, sports, financial services, energy and clean technology, life sciences, industrial manufacturing and distribution, biotechnology, consumer products, software, telecommunications and networking, construction services, architecture and engineering services, and healthcare services.

In addition to advising his clients, Mr. Kesoglou frequently seeks to facilitate the introduction among investors looking to invest capital with companies in search of raising equity growth capital or planning exit strategies and financial advisory firms.

Mr. Kesoglou is a frequent public speaker on corporate legal matters and has authored several articles published in leading magazines, including Buyouts magazine and Financier Worldwide magazine.

Mr. Kesoglou began his legal career at the New York office of Goodwin Procter LLP in its Private Equity Group. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Kesoglou worked as an investment banker in the Real Estate Finance and Securitization Group of CIBC World Markets in New York.
