Areas of Expertise

Jarrett currently serves as Executive Vice President and General Counsel to Keane, a leading provider of unclaimed property compliance services, beginning in February 2009. Since that time, Jarrett’s role has expanded and he is regularly involved in all aspects of Keane’s services. In addition to his responsibilities as General Counsel, Jarrett also serves as Executive Vice President of Keane’s Legal Claimant Services Division. And serves as a Manager of Keane’s Broker-Dealer subsidiary, Keane Financial, LLC.

Jarrett regularly assists estate attorneys, research firms, and professional genealogists throughout the United States and abroad in their efforts to locate individuals, recover dormant assets, and prove kinship. Jarrett has played a pivotal role in Keane’s growth by routinely counseling Keane’s CEO, Keane’s clients and a multitude of the legal claimants that retain Keane’s services.

Since admission to New York State, New Jersey State, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bar Associations, Jarrett has regularly counseled and represented clients, including but not limited to, the Public Administrator of Kings County, in matters relating to trusts & estates administration, estate planning, estate litigation and real estate. Jarrett has also been acknowledged as an expert in genealogical research and has provided expert testimony in kinship hearings.

Prior Experience

Prior to joining Keane, Jarrett was associated with the law firm of Finkelstein & Virga P.C. During his tenure with Finkelstein & Virga P.C., Jarrett was responsible for handling all aspects of the prosecution and defense of administration proceedings, probate proceedings, final accounting proceedings, kinship hearings, auctions and sales and closings of real property, and the collection of estate assets. Jarrett also drafted and supervised the execution of last will and testaments and conducted examinations of attesting witnesses and attorney draftspersons pursuant to SCPA §1404.
