When i smashed my finger under a 600lb railroad tie, not only did i see stars but i hired one too...for those of you who dont know, railroad employees are not covered under traditional workmans comp but a program called FELA (federal employers liability act) basically it allows employees to sue thei...r employer and not fear any retribution....it also protects workers in other ways but i dont wanna get side tracked...i was working with heavy machines loading 600lb rail ties, at night under dim lighting conditions when one of the rail ties slipped off the loading forks and smashed my finger...i was out of work and in rehab for 2 months...i did receive my base weekly salary but lost over 189 hrs of overtime compensation...when i was told by company lawyers they were not going to pay....i hired Fred. He is an expert on railroad law and thanks to him, it was determined my company should of had better lighting....while admitting no guilt they settled right before my case went to trial....everything Fred told me to expect was just about spot on...No BS!!! He is a pro at what he does and is not afraid of anyone...his assistant Lori is all business and when Fred is not available to talk, she has all the answers...
