Ryan Samuel Klarberg

Ryan Klarberg is a member of Pryor Cashman’s Intellectual Property, Media + Entertainment, Digital Media and Litigation Groups.

Ryan litigates a wide range of intellectual property and other actions involving copyright, trademark, Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DCMA), trade secret, publicity and privacy rights and licensing disputes. He assisted in developing IP prosecution and defense strategies for several Grammy Award-winning atrists and Fortune 100 companies. In addition, Ryan handles general commercial litigation as well as counseling on compliance with laws governing the digital space.

Before becoming a lawyer, Ryan held positions in the music and wealth management fields where he gained a deep appreciation of the business and financial considerations well-known individuals and large companies face. He uses that knowledge today to offer clients practical counsel on matters ranging from IP monetization to brand optimization.

Identifying IP Trends Around the Globe

Always on the watch for trends that may impact intellectual property assets, Ryan helps clients ­spot new opportunities and avoid threats. One of the most topical issues of the day, particularly for those in the fashion and music industries, is IP piracy and the enforcement of intellectual property rights overseas, especially in China. Ryan thwarts piracy threats by aggressively protecting his clients’ IP in markets around the world. His diligence enables clients to maintain the high standards for quality and authenticity their brands depend on.

Academic Achievements

Ryan is a 2012 cum laude graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, where he was a recipient of the CALI Legal Excellence for the Future Award.
