Biography
Attorney Alfred Placeres has been addressing immigration and small business issues for over thirty years. In 1996, the year of the passage of the Immigration Control and Reform Act (IRCA), he served as the Chairman of the Immigration Committee of the Hispanic National Bar Association,
From 1992 to 2007, he co-hosted "La Ley y Usted" on Radio WADO a live program where he answered listeners immigration questions. From 2007-12, he served as the weekly guest commentator on the TELEMUNDO's Canal 47 morning news immigration segment.
For his many years of leadership on issues impacting on immigrants and small businesses, he has received award recognition from organizations such as the Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Korean American Small Business Development Center, Hispanic Magazine and New York's El Diario Newspaper.
