Seth David Schraier

He doesn't care about the case. I paid him upfront and the 1st Court appearance he didn't even show up. When he comes he is unprepared. His wrong answers to the Judge's questions took away the few rights I had. He is not supportive. He asks you to BCc him to the emails you exchange with your spou...se but it's worthless as he doesn't do anything when he sees that you've been bullied by the other party. When you reach out to him he says he will take appropriate actions, but doesn't do anything. He even lied to me about a motion he told me he was doing- it turns out "in the court room" that he hasn't done anything at all. Don't waste your money. I almost lost my child and was homeless for months in cold weather because of his incompetence.

Please be careful. Seth Schraier is extremely eager to give long initial free phone consultations but his legal skills are lacking. I hired him based on his favorable Avvo reviews, the fact that his retainer was reasonable, and he sounded knowledgeable, however, I found him to be nearly incompetent a...nd definitely negligent. He did no work at all to prepare for the court appearance, and did not even bother to get up to speed on the court papers, counting on the fact that I would cave in to a last minute settlement - which I did, based on his extreme pressure. And he was supposed to be my attorney! It felt more like he was on the other side. I ended up in a worse (much worse) situation than if I have just gone to court with no attorney at all.

My husband and I have been separate for years. We both wanted to move on with other people. I hired and paid Seth to help us we our uncontested divorce. We provided all the required document to him. 8 months later our divorce is still not finalized. HEver He never called to inform us about the case.... He ignored my message and when I finally got him. He gave me a stupid excuse as to the reason for the delay. I called the Westchester Supreme Court to find out the status of our uncontested divorce and found out thos men never submitted the uncontested divorce parkage. All he did is take the money and file for the index number. I removed him as my attorney and completed the document myself. I complained to the Westchester Grievance Committee and New York Department of Disciplinary Committee about him. He doesn't even have an office. I met him at his apartment and his many cat's has taken over his apartment. When I left my allergies were real bordering me. Unprofessional, unresponsive and very unethical!!
