Ms. Hartig, Esq., is a highly professional, very knowledgeable, real estate attorney in Manhattan, New York City. I retained her services for help in dealing with a rent-stabilized lease transfer situation. She handled it rapidly and expertly, obtaining the desired result. She is friendly and art...iculate, and gave me the time needed, both over the phone and in her office. Her assistant Abbey is also well-equipped to carry out her own duties in helping Ms. Hartig and her clients. All-in-all I am very well-satisfied with the care and attention afforded me by Ms. Hartig.

When I spoke to Helene on the phone she appeared to be very experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly. I was ready to retain her. It was a Friday with holidays on Monday and Tuesday so she asked me to email her documents pertaining to my case and said she would email me back on Wednesday. She did n...ot, nor did she reply to any of my emails reminding her. I tried calling her numerous times over the following two weeks and left messages with someone who told me she was Helene's assistant. I later learned this person was not her assistant, but rather the receptionist at her office, and had not passed on any of my messages. This was very bizarre and upsetting, but I eventually was able to leave a message with Helene's actual assistant who claimed she would contact me within the next day. She never did. I'm honestly not sure what happened. She was active on Twitter during this entire period so it couldn't have been for lack of time. Meanwhile, the value of my time spent trying to get her to respond to me over the course of three weeks was greater than her retainer fee. Helene might be a good attorney, but her professionalism is extremely lacking.

We moved into an apartment and from day 1 there were issues with the heating, pipe noise, etc. Landlord was refusing to fix anything and we were not able to sleep there because of the noise. Helene was recommended to us by another attorney and in short order(a week) was able to secure a release from... our lease, quick return of security deposit, and an agreement of neutral reference. She had great communication, her staff was friendly, and most importantly was accomplished everything that we needed.
