Sina R Hekmat Jr.

Sina Hekmat is a partner at the law firm of Hogan & Hartson LLP.  He has extensive experience advising clients in a wide variety of sophisticated corporate, securities, and business transactions, with a particular emphasis on corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions, involving both U.S. and cross-border transactions.

Sina has represented issuers, shareholders, and underwriters in U.S. and global public offerings and private placements of debt and equity securities. He has advised a number of issuers in the telecommunications, software, energy, and financial services industries in connection with initial, follow-on, and secondary offerings of equity securities. He has also advised numerous issuers and underwriters in connection with investment grade and high-yield debt offerings. He has advised sovereign issuers in connection with registered public offerings in the United States and offerings under the European Prospectus Directive. Sina has also represented U.S., Canadian, and European private equity, real estate, and hedge funds in connection with structuring and capital formation transactions.

Sina has advised acquirors, sellers, and target companies in a number of U.S., European, and global mergers and acquisitions, including tender offers, exchange offers, and hostile takeovers of publicly traded companies, as well as acquisitions (including management and/or leveraged buyouts) and dispositions (including auction sale) of business units and divisions. He has advised multinational corporations in connection with cross-border joint ventures. He has also advised various investment firms in connection with acquisitions and dispositions of distressed assets and non-performing loans, real estate portfolios, and portfolio companies.
