Lindsay W. Bowen, Jr. concentrates in civil litigation and counseling in the areas of content, media, and entertainment. His practice includes matters involving copyright, trademark, licensing, online privacy, and contract disputes, in which he has represented film studios, cable networks, record labels, internationally famous and emerging musicians, actors, film directors, Broadway producers, theater companies, playwrights, podcasters, publishers, and online booksellers.
Mr. Bowen has worked on appellate and trial litigation relating to contract and royalty disputes, online piracy, copyright ownership, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, and unfair competition. Prior to joining Jenner & Block, Mr. Bowen was an associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore.
He received his J.D., magna cum laude, in 2009 from Fordham University School of Law, where he served as Associate Editor for the Fordham Law Review, was inducted into the Order of the Coif, and was awarded the Fordham Law School Prize.
In April 2015, Mr. Bowen was a panelist at the Fordham Law School Media & Entertainment Law Society Symposium, speaking on “The Taylor Swift Effect: The Future of Artist Compensation and The Rise of Music Streaming Services.” He has also been quoted in an article by Vice regarding trademark law and streaming media.
Prior to attending law school, Mr. Bowen co-founded The 24 Hour Company, where he has produced “The 24 Hour Plays” in theaters around the world, including on Broadway and the West End. He serves on the Board of Directors of INTAR Theatre in New York, the city’s oldest Latino theater company, and BRIC, which presents the long-running Celebrate Brooklyn concert series.
Mr. Bowen is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey and is a member of several bar associations, including the New York State Bar: Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section.
