David Mason Murphy

I have more than twenty five years experience in handling complex cross-border issues with respect to Customs and trade including U.S. import and export control (classification, valuation, marking/origin, governmental agency requirements), international sanctions programs, drawback, and special duty programs (free trade agreements, foreign trade zones/bonded warehouses). I represent a wide-variety of clients worldwide, ranging from foreign governments, privately held corporations and Fortune 500 companies engaged in the manufacture, importation, exportation and distribution. My firm and I are counsel in numerous acquisitions, civil and criminal proceedings, False Claims Act cases, litigation, and antidumping/countervailing duty proceedings.

I am a licensed U.S. Customs broker, Certified Customs Specialist (through the National Customs Brokers & Forwarders Association of America), and an Accredited Zone Specialist through the National Association of Foreign Trade Zones.  Since 1987, I have taught and teach a twice-yearly review course to assist people in preparation for the licensing examination for Customs brokers. I am a frequent speaker before various trade groups and am an author and co-author of a number of articles.

I am admitted to practice before the States of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and the District of Columbia, several federal courts including the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. District Courts of New Jersey, Northern, Southern and Eastern District of New York, U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

I am a member of the National Association of Foreign Trade Zones, Ireland Chamber of Commerce in the United States, and numerous other trade related organizations.
